Housing for CHI 2009 is now open! For your convenience, ACM has negotiated reduced rates (ranging from $169 to $234 per night) with a number of Boston hotels within walking distance of the Hynes Convention Center.
In order to obtain the special conference rate, attendees must make hotel reservations using the CHI 2009 housing bureau. This service offers one-stop reservations for CHI 2009 attendees and accepts reservations online, by phone, or by fax. Utilizing the housing bureau also allows us to keep our conference costs low and continue to offer room blocks for our attendees. New this year, the housing bureau also offers travel agency services.

The cutoff date for CHI 2009 housing is 1 March 2009. After this date, you will no longer be able to reserve at the group rate. Because housing is limited, however, attendees are encouraged to make hotel reservations early in order to ensure receipt of the group rate.
Please note that hotels will only honor the special conference rates for reservations secured through the housing bureau. Reservations made by other means will not be included in special conference promotions or activities.
Special note for Student Volunteers: Accepted SVs will be able to take advantage of reduced-rate rooms by using a special passcode. Please contact the SV chair at studentvolunteers@chi2009.org for additional information on SV housing.
One of the country’s oldest cities, Boston is rich with colonial history and endless things to do and see. Visitors to Boston find themselves faced with a difficult decision: which of the city’s endless attractions to visit first. Boston is also the home of some of the country’s most prestigious universities, including Harvard and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Most attractions in and around Boston are easily accessible on foot or by subway. For additional information on Boston, please visit the Boston Convention & Visitor’s Bureau.
Boston is served by Logan International Airport, which is directly connected to the city’s subway system via the new Silver Line. Visitors coming from within the Northeast might also consider Amtrak, which provides regular service from New York and Washington, DC. The Hynes Convention Center is just two blocks from Boston’s Back Bay Station, a quick walk.
CHI 2009 will take place at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center. Nestled in the heart of Boston’s vibrant Back Bay neighborhood, the Hynes is within easy walking distance of hundreds of shops, restaurants, and bars. The Hynes is attached to the Shops at Prudential Center and Copley Place.
